On 3 July 2020, a tragic incident of High Roof Van, carrying about 27 Sikh Sardars from Peshawar collided with the Train at Farooqabad, Sheikhupura. As a result, 20 Sikh, Driver and helper of the Van lost their lives whereas 7 others were seriously injured. ETPB made special arrangements for shifting of dead bodies to Lahore and from there to Peshawar through special aircraft (C-130). The injured were shifted to CMH, Lahore. Next day the deadbodies were taken to Shamshanghat, Attock for cremation. Chairman ETPB and Pardhan PSGPC announced one lac each for the deceased Sikh to meet their initial expenses and Rs 50,000/ for the each injured Sikh
. Sikh community all over the world appreciated the support extended by ETPB to the bereaved families in the hour of need.
Federal Minister MoRA and IH Dr Noor ul Haq Qadri also visited Peshawar and condoled with the bereaved families on 5 July (Sunday) and offered all possible support to them in this hour of grief.
